About the Artist

Randi is a scientist, artist, and nature enthusiast with a PhD in Cellular, Molecular and Biomedical Science. 

She created the Gizmo Explores! series to combine her love of art, science, and education. Inspired by her curious cat Gizmo, the books introduce readers to fascinating species through fun illustrations and real science. 

When she isn’t creating new books, Randi enjoys painting ocean scenes, rock-hounding, camping, snorkeling, and spending time with her husband Ali and their two cats, Gizmo and Ez.
