Before you start: Acrylic markers can create moss on top of an already colored rock.
If not using acrylic markers, leave the areas for the moss patches blank when you initially color the rock.
Use a light mossy green to make area for the moss patches.
Use a dark mossy green to create a shadow on the bottom edge of the moss patches.
Use a fine tipped pencil or marker to make textured details and highlights.
Refine shadows and highlights as needed.
Pro Tip: White gel pens work great for making highlights at the end!
