Lava Rock

1. Start with a light yellow and use a light gray to line where you want the rock plates.

2. Shade the edges of the lava with orange. Line the bottom edges of the rock plates with red-orange.

3. Shade the rock plates with a medium gray

4. Shade the edges of the rock plates with a dark maroon.

5. Blend the maroon with a medium to dark gray. Highlight the edges of the rock plates with red-orange.

6. Lightly use red-orange to create waves in the lava, then add white highlights. Use black to create spots on the lava plates. 

Pro Tips:  A red gel pen or acrylic marker works great for creating highlights on the rock plate edges.

A white gel pen or acrylic marker works great for creating highlights at the end!
